Immediately after solidification of the shell iron the mould is slowed down, lifted from the spin casting machine and placed on the sand mould of the bottom neck.

Casting

Immediately after solidification of the shell iron the mould is slowed down, lifted from the spin casting machine and placed on the sand mould of the bottom neck.  The top neck mould with the pouring cup is put on the top of the chill. The form is then fully filled with the core iron in a static process falling from above. The casting process is monitored in time and temperature; it is of decisive importance to adhere to an exact procedure in order to ensure perfect bonding between the shell and the core.

In heat treatment the finished product is given the required material qualities according to the relevant demands of the roll mill.

In heat treatment, for which electrically heated bogie furnaces with a capacity of up to 120 tonnes are available, the finished product is given the required material qualities such as surface hardness, stability, and residual stress is measured according to the requirements of the rolling mill.
